Spring Lawn Care
February to May
Spring is a critical time for lawn care. Your grass will soon be entering a major growth period, so you've got to make sure it's prepared!
- Mowing - You should mow your lawn once a week during the springtime.
- Overseeding - Planting more seeds in spring is a great way to boost the thickness of your lawn over the coming year.
- Top Dressing - Now is the time to improve the quality of your soil with top dressing.
- Aeration - Soil becomes compacted over time, making it harder for moisture and nutrients to reach the roots of your grass. Aeration (spiking holes in the lawn to loosen the earth) can help to combat this.
- Pest Control - Pests are very active at this time of year. Get them under control early.
- Scarification - Spring is a good time to remove moss and thatch from your lawn.
- Weed Control - Treat young weeds with herbicide now to keep them from growing any further.

Summer Lawn Care
May to August
Summer is a period of accelerated growth for your lawn. Mowing more frequently is recommended, and you may need to water your lawn depending on the weather.
- Mowing - During the warmer months, it's a good idea to kick up your mowing to twice a week.
- Watering - As long as it's raining regularly, there's usually no need to water the grass yourself. During a hot, dry summer, it may be necessary to water your lawn once or twice a week.
- Pest Control - Ants like to build their nests in the summertime. Keep an eye out for those telltale mounds of soil.

Autumn Lawn Care
August to November
The temperature is dropping and the days are getting shorter. Now is the time to get your lawn ready and ensure that it will be healthy enough to survive the winter. If dead leaves are falling in your garden, clear them away with a rake.
- Mowing - Mowing is still important in the autumn, although you can drop back down to one mowing session per week now.
- Overseeding - Improve the thickness and vigour of your lawn by planting more seeds.
- Aeration - Heavy rain is common at this time of year. The rain's impact can contribute to soil compaction; as we've already discussed, aeration helps to alleviate this.
- Moss Control - Moss thrives in damp conditions. Stop it in its tracks before it has a chance to spread.
- Lawn Disease Protection - Damp autumn weather is also conducive to fungi and brown / yellow patches. Professional treatment may be required if you notice any signs of lawn disease.

Winter Lawn Care
November to February
Winter is a challenging time for your lawn, but if you look after it properly, it should remain in good health until spring arrives.
- Aeration - If water is building up on the surface of your lawn, this may be a sign of poor drainage. Aeration can help with this.
- Fertilisation - Use a specialist winter lawn feed to keep your lawn in rude health during the colder months.
