Why do I need a spring lawn treatment?
If your grass is short of food in early spring, it will struggle to grow healthily. Our spring lawn treatment programme includes a carefully-measured application of specialist spring lawn feed to make sure your lawn has sufficient nutrients to sustain vigorous growth throughout this crucial time.
Weak grass allows moss and weeds to develop, whereas healthy, rapid grass growth will limit weeds. Our spring lawn care treatment also includes the application of a systemic broad-spectrum liquid herbicide to control common weeds such as dandelions, buttercups, daisies, etc. All of which will start appearing throughout your garden during spring.

Lawn Care Tips for Spring
- Overseeding - By planting more seeds than usual, germination will occur more rapidly and your growing grass will become thicker. Overseeding must be carried out at the right time of year and in the right way in order to achieve the best results.
- Top Dressing - This involves adding soil mixes to the lawn’s surface and brushing / raking them in to improve the overall soil quality.
- Aeration - We use mechanised equipment to either puncture the soil with spikes or remove small cores 1” x 2” cores of soil from the ground. This can help to address drainage issues, reduce turf compaction, and improve the infiltration of water and nutrients.
- Dealing with Worms & Worm Casts - Worms casts are soil and plant remains that earthworms deposit on the surface of your turf. They are unsightly and can smear. Lawn & Weed Expert can help to deal with this problem.
- Scarifying - This a vigorous process that involves pulling dead moss and thatch out of your lawn.
- Broadleaf Weed Treatment - Spring is a good time to apply herbicides to control weed growth in your garden.
